Overview
The September 2026 clean-recovery record reconstructs a bounded Nora X experimental environment with perception and body-state records, world-model state, memory provenance, learning records, attention proposals, prediction and outcome comparison, a governed action pipeline, and receipts. The recovery is reconstructed rather than byte-for-byte identical to an earlier pass and includes no processor-integration claim.
A separate bounded live-hearing run recorded one spoken input, local transcription, response handoff, and dual-camera receipts. Normal governed live physical runtime remains the primary validation method.
Current system and work
The reviewed system connects bounded perception and hearing evidence to persistent records, proposed attention and action, and explicit authority boundaries:
- Perception and hearing: camera and speech-input evidence is bounded to recorded runs; unavailable sensors fail closed.
- Persistent experience: the sandbox records provenance and connected state without establishing unrestricted lifelong continuity.
- Memory, learning, and revision: reviewed memory and learning records plus prediction/outcome comparison are present; mechanism details remain protected and broad reliability is not established.
- Action and authority: attention and bounded head/neck proposals pass through governed routes with HOLD behavior, receipts, and human interruption.
Current limits and next integration work
The recovered experimental state is not identified as official or complete Nora. Normal-runtime IDLE_AWAKE integration remains in development. The live-hearing record does not establish playback, head movement, durable memory, broad sensor coverage, networking, or general learning.
- Arms, locomotion, full physical feedback, completed hardware, unrestricted autonomy, and general intelligence are not demonstrated.
- Direct hardware bypass and unbounded autonomous operation remain outside the reviewed authority boundary.
- Continuous embodied learning, broader perception, and connected physical-world experience remain research objectives rather than achieved results.
- The current evidence does not establish absolute safety or production readiness.
Research notes
Nora X Research Note 001
Experiential Associative Memory and Developmental Cognition in an Embodied Artificial Being
Research Note 001 documents Nora X as an Artificial Being architectural research program: distinct lived episodes, occurrence-specific evidence and reusable structure, associative-memory topology, experiential density, evidence-bounded recall, field-first perception before semantic grounding, and provenance for self-generated speech.
It also records repeated evidence and provisional self-name reinforcement, selected physical-runtime results, current limitations and unproven capabilities, and the developmental direction toward cross-modal entity grounding and governed sensorimotor action. It does not claim consciousness or sentience.
